Evening gents. I posted up a thread a few months back about precision screwdrivers. I got some pretty good responses this led me to some serious amounts of web searching. You know how it is when you get your teeth into searching out whatever is the best bang for your needs/dollars. I know of the brand names that Wiha and PB Swiss came up pretty fast. However, some nosing around led me to some other brands that look promising if a bit hard to come by at times. I will list these brands and some links and we'll see if you guys have run across these before or know of someone who hazarded an opinion about them.
Witte. I had definitely heard of these but they don't come up often in topics here. Witte
Wera. Another German brand that gets some serious praise on various tool forums. They make some superb looking ergonomic drivers. Wera
Felo. These are distributed by Bondhus. If you follow the link, you will go to Bondhus' site. There just click on "products", then screwdrivers and scroll down the menu on the left of the screen. They are very ergonomic too and have a pretty good rep on the forums. Bondhus
Now I have a good assortment of Klein screwdrivers so buying a bunch more is unjustified but who ever need justification to support our little tool addictions?
Anyroad, I am still looking more toward the precision styles out of need but may look at some cabinet tip and philips out of want. The other notion I have is that maybe one of the 1/8" slotted bit drivers with a semi normal sized handle may work as well as the precisions for a lot my needs. I have tried the 260 series precision drivers by Wiha and they were pretty tedious to hold steady in fairly large hands. They are also pretty slippery with their hard plastic handle surfaces. Thanks for any help.
Todd
