Hey fellas. Did you hear about this major gaffe last week? You won't see it anywhere but FoxNews or the net. The cheerleader press won't cover it.
The administration completely and thoroughly insulted and degraded the state visit from the English PM last week. It is tradition to give meaningful gifts to the host head of state. Meaningful as in historically significant or symbolic of a certain achievement. Well PM Gordon bestowed a silver pen holder made from hardware from HMS Gannet and the commission paper from HMS Resolute. What does this mean? Well Gannet was ship used for freed slaves or used in freeing of slaves. Resolute was her sister ship. The desk in the Whitehouse is made from the timbers of the Resolute. You may recall in the National Treasure 2 movie it featured in a big scene. Anyway, the Brits were trying to bestow these gifts upon The One because of their historical significance vis a vis slavery. Get it? Well the admin didn't. They gave the guy a 25 disc DVD set that won't even play in Great Britain. Then they returned the bust of Winston Churchill that the Brits gifted us after the 911 attacks. See the symbolic nature here? Winny stood strong in WW2 and this symbolised the Brits faith in our standing strong after Sept. 11. They tried gracefully to reject it s return but the Obama administration insisted. Wow, just wow. Look, I have hammered the Limey's time after time. They tend to arrogance. Think they are way smarter than us, etc. Yet they are our strongest ally. What were these idiots thinking? Handing the PM of England a DVD set? In return for the historical symbolism of the Resolute and Gannet? My my. Our super suave, enlightened leader who was going to magically make our friends in Europe love us again managed to thoroughly insult and alienate our best friends there. In a way, it is an ironic justice. The Limey's were all atwitter at his election. They we re so arrogant about how we needed to do this, etc. Then he disses the guy in public. Asked about it later one of the lackeys said that England and our Anglo-American relationship meant nothing more to the administration than any other of the 190 member U.N. or some such.
Excuse me. If Bush jr or sr. had pulled this what do you think would be the lead story everyday? What is even more interesting is that the papers in London are seething mad over it. They even call his wife Lady MacBeth. What a hoot. What? Did they finally figure out we have the most arrogant leader here of all time? He has no sense of history or our allegiances. Remember this guys. It gets even better. This week he announces he wants to talk to the "moderate" wing of the Taliban. Can we say oxymoron?
