Good Evening, All --
One of our sons drove my wife's 2002 Saturn SL-2 about 40 miles to San Francisco International, dropped us off, drove back home, and parked the car. A week later, when he tried to start the car to pick us up, it wouldn't start.
The engine cranks ok, but won't catch and run. Pulling the plugs shows them to be clean, correctly gapped, and damp with gasoline, so I'd be checking the distributor and coil . . . if it had a distributor and coil.
I've never before had to troubleshoot a distributorless ignition system beyond plugs and wires, and I'm too busy working right now to be in the mood to really study distributorless ignitions and the ins and outs of their troubleshooting.
So, bottom line, are any of you familiar enough with the Saturn's ignition to point to known weaknesses or probable faults?
Thanks,
John
