Have one at work, don't know the year. Does it have a spring loaded plunger handle on the carriage? If it does the apron gearbox needs to be filled with way oil.
Will try to look up the oil requirements for the head next week sometime, will also try to catch one of the maintenance techs and ask them what they really pour in it.
And i know that you don't want to hear this but most shops i have been around have way oil, one kind of gear oil, and one kind of hydrolic oil. All of the machines get the oil in stock not the oil specified in the reservoir as required. That's if the oil gets changed at all. The last shop i was at (worked there for a year and a half) the only machine that received an oil change was when one of the lathes had a hydro line burst. No other machine had any kind of oil change in that time. When i started there the spin on filter on the air compressor had a date two years previous and it was never changed while i was there. Yes i mentioned it, more than once, even offered to stop by the industrial supply place and pick up the filter and oil on the way home. The answer was always the same, we don't have time right now, but we will order the stuff soon and you can do it then.
