I got an email from MSC today, they're going to run a photocopy of the manual and snail mail it to me; I'll let you know what it says when I get it.
I've heard quite a few people are running Dexron III or IV with good results. YAM spec's only 40-80 weight 100% synthetic but Itohyo looks to be exactly the same machine just pained blue and they spec AW-32, 46 or 68 depending on ambient operating temperature.
I know some folks who have been running 85W140 and one who runs bar & chain oil in all his gear boxes.
