I suppose our Trustworthy friend would know them already.
There was a book a few years back. You could probably find that book and discusion by finding the site for Early American Industries Association. This was known as EAIA and they had a site. It went up and down(folks pass etc). Their newsletter was "The Chronicle" The reason I mention this is, in an article there will be a bibliography reference to maybe a larger treatise book done in Europe a long time ago that you can find. This particular "Cronicle" I found buried was an Index to Vol 41-46 --years 1988-1993. In the index under "hammer" there were 11 seperate articles about different hammers from well.. reinforced,Tyrod, bossing, child with., card, cigarbox,Conn Arms & MFG,deadblow, rolled paper, shoe molding and stone mason's.
