""Do you really need 10 extension cords and 14 brooms?""
Yep, sure do! Having been self-employed nearly all my life and from having two service trucks that had to be ready to go at any point in time, things get doubled and tripled. Also, when one day you're machining parts for a long-range underhammer rifle, the next a powder horn, the next a '67 Fastback and the next building a machine for jewelry shop. They all require different tools and if you don't have them, you can't do the work or least not do it efficiently.
I took a major loss when "those people" in PA stole a large amount of my tooling and supplies - just fifteen years of blood & sweat gone and now that I'm crippled up it's thousands of times more difficult to try replacing even a small portion of it.
I'm not trying to be rude Gary, this is just informative. If you want to know what it's like, take all your "stuff" and lock it away in a storage facility then spend six months trying to get by without it. It may seem like redundancy and clutter to you but when it's your stuff that's gone, you'll feel much differently and trust me, you won't like it.
Tools are like guns, you can never have "too many"!
