Glad you got the car going-
I understand exactly what you are going through. My brother who sold auto parts and tools died several years ago and we sold some of the big stuff but when his wife died in 2004, I helped my nephew clean up the residue and we found many items in the basement. Mostly cheap tools but some SK tools. We had an estate sale and I priced stuff cheap but still made over $1600 on just the junk in the basement. We made much more on the furniture and items in the house.
I have way too much stuff today including lots of electronic test equipment and parts. I have over 10 digital voltmeters and 5 old analog VOM's as an example. I use each one at various times. I will one day give a lot of my tools and test equipment to a young person interested in using and working with the tools. I will not give anything to someone for re-sale for a profit.
