There was this particular parrot at a particular time in a certain store fairly recently.
So what the&^^&%^$^&^( is this? Hold on.
So it was a slow day in the store and I was quiet and observed this bird and crouched to see him more equally. He did that inspection which they do,which you are familiar with critters doing. They go foraward and back and tilt their head and give you a good eyeball.
Around that time I removed my glasses so he could see my eyes better- because we were checking each out.(might have been a her). You folks who have had certain kittens or puppies know what that means. They think you pulled your eyeballs out or something, then they need another look. (this one spaniel pup i used to know actually ate my glasses as in chewed them up, thought they shouldn't be there...chewed my hat too..I digress.) This little bird is the type in that comercial which says "Not another Day" "can't take this" and at the end bends his head over 120 degree from verticle- like they do.
Anyway so we had this small little meet and he was perched at his seed bowl then he flipped a few large seeds up against the glass towards me and was watching me.They lodged between the glass wall and floor in a groove.
This bird, still giving me that sideways glance proceeded to flip over on its back.(never saw that before) and reaches with his feet which are now his hands and grabs one big seed after another and eats them like we would eat corn on the cob. Of course the sideways glance- to see if I'm getting this. Amazing bird. Then he gets up and I think then some kids came in and I told them what a fine bird he was. Sweet little kids and his cage was just at their level. So what is the point? Well,I was buying catfood for old big cats. I returned to the store weeks later and almost excactly the same parrot was there if you cut out the brain and passion the other had.
