These companies are riding on the name and past reputation to sell their Chinese made junk to do it yourselfers, who have absolutely NO idea of quality, or if they do, are assuming that the quality of the new tool is the same as that of those that Dad or Grandpa had when the name Milwaukee, Delta, Porter-Cable, Dewalt, Craftsman, or whatever once meant something.
The same principle applies to the junk John Deere, Snap On, Caterpillar, markets to the yuppie do it yourselfer, who can brag that he owns a genuine Snap On jockstrap, or that his genuine John Deere teddybear is the best that money can buy, so he can impress his equally clueless neighbor, neither of whom has the brains, physical stamina, or common sense needed to change a light bulb, or drill a hole.
Take a look at the new Popular Mechanics or Popular Science 'magazines', and see just what the advertisments are, and whom the target audience is. The 'writers' are just as useless, abundant in their stupidity, and lack of real knowlege.
