Thinking retro and cool their diagnostic machines TUT-1015 and pre that were all analog meters and stuff. If you go into ebay and search "Sun" in ebay Motors then see that many items are sold by companies that deal exclusively with auto service machines. Then go to "completed items" and see that you just missed a sale of the manual. All is not lost for again there are companies which etc.
Some names will pop up like alltrades and atec1.
The AC power is going thru a simple rectifier circuit composed of large diodes. These can be tested cold. There would be a big zener to moderate/regulate the max output or many since this is a large machine. First thing is to tke the case off it and inspect the relatively simple circuitry. Vacuum it out but before that do a detectve search of thick webs or burned area. old tooth brush is fine for pre-IC type things. What can happen is that country spiders love to get into equipment boxes for some reason and get a regular thing goin on but the humidity changes drastically and the webs are laden with moisture. So the spider gets a bad day when it powered up but also there may be a path for AC to invade the regultion side and something pops. It may just be a fuse in there.
