My favorite small chain wrenches were made by Diamond Tool and Horseshoe, but the Diamond chain wrenches seemed to be the one Western Forge copied when they made the Craftsman-brand ones for Sears. The Ridgid and Proto small chain wrenches had a beefier handle and only a curved "single end" serrated jaw -- the Diamond and Craftsman models had what I'll call a saddle-shaped jaw with serrations on both ends.
The bastard stepchildren of the Diamond chain wrenches are made in China and sold under the Crescent brand. Don't have any first-hand experience with them, and frankly they look pretty good, but Cooper didn't pass along any of their savings when they offshored the manufacturing.
The Pittsburgh Forge (Harbor Freight) chain wrenches are, like the Crescent-brand ones, Chinese made and patterned after the Diamond models. If I lived near a Harbor Freight store, I'd buy the Pittsburgh Forge chain wrench because 1) Harbor Freight stand behinds their lifetime guaranteed Pittsburgh-brand wrenches much better than Cooper stands behind their tools, and 2) bought on sale or with one of the very-commonplace 20 percent off coupons, the Pittsburgh Forge chain wrench sells for about a third the price of the Crescent.
