U're never late JG. The reason I asked and will pick up one at HF, is that there should be more a grip than the designs I've seen. It depended too much on the foot/pawl and the configuration was that too much pressure was at that point for certain diameters. Many pipe things are crushed at that point because they haven't spread out the grip and rely upon actual grip at one small point.
It seems it would be better for that pressure spread out and the rest of the chain impart grip. The "Pawl" could be two-pieced and run under the chain and the "chain" be a more aggressive affair to where the "rollers" which become not rollers in this torque, have teeth like coarse knurles and impart grip.The chain itself have teeth.
