don't know where you acquired this or who got to it before you. The voltage is different in UK last I heard. I could not say why the case ground would be involved with the voltage selector- unless someone knew more about that 3rd wire over there and thought it would act as a variable thru the grid or whatever. This doesn't account with my knowledge at this point. Case ground WAS case ground. Although there are good indications all knowledge will be turned on its head.
