Herculese, other than the black Grip, sucks! See my previous post about their crap and even if you use the Grip, you have to degrease the threads (male and female) with brake clean or similar or it won't stick and will leak every time.
Rector Seal (rectum seal as it's loving called on the jobsite) is my first choice for general purpose use. Gasoila is also very good and what I use on fuel systems just because it's the easiest to identify by inspectors so it just eliminates a lot of hassle and it's specifically blended for exposure to gasoline blended with up to 20% ethanol.
La-Co white is another good general purpose dope that I have no complaints about. http://www.laco.com/productDetail118.aspx
