Posted by Katie --Previous Message-- Have you ever tried butt busters? You can do them off the side of the pool. Start with your back to the water, jump up and back and try grabbing your legs in a pike (or tuck, but pike for this is actually easier) with the aim of landing in a V on your rear end in the water (don't do it off a board it'll hurt, but off the side of the pool is no problem, especially if you squeeze into as tight a pike as you can, bring your legs to your chest more than your chest to you legs.) When you get comfortable with this, do them forwrd of the side, same thing, just make sure to jump out enough, but the rotation to land on your butt is the same as for a reverse dive. When you get on the board, do the same thing, but instead if holding on to your pike, let go, feet up, head towards the water. Another thing to try is back drops on a trampoline, but if you aren't comfortable on the tramp make sure you have someone spotting you, b/c you don't want to land wrong, but this is actually the same thing as a reverse, just you land on your back instead of your head. Good luck.

: Well reverse definately take a lot of
: courage
: to learn. When you first do a reverse, try
: to go far away from the board (that's so
: you're not worried about hitting the board).
: Once you can do that, just start to stand up
: the dive more and more until it's 3-4 feet
: away from the board. I used to have trouble
: with reverses two years ago, but now I'm
: doing 305C (reverse 2-1/2 tuck) off one
: meter. It just takes some time so DON'T GIVE
: UP!!!

If you start by trying to go really far away from the board though, just remember it's going to be a lot harder to get rotation, so you'll probably end up a little flat.
