Posted by Freddy Phoenix on August 31, 2004, 12:36 am Our focus falls upon an old two story house in the distance. The place is most likely a farmhouse due to the surrounding fields, though they havent produced any crops for quite some time. Theres a beckoning glow from the house, the moonlight illuminating the white outer walls. The screams grow louder upon our approach. Shadows of what appear to be two people make their way through the lower portions of the house. One follows the other from room to room, not letting this argument rest. Were able to easily keep up with the action due to the lights being on in each room. In fact every light in this house is on except one. An unlit window sits in the upper corner of the house, standing out somewhat for obvious reasons. Alone in the dark room a young boy lays in his bed sniffling. His fists tightly clench the sheets, drawing them up close to him. Tears stream down his face before collecting in the small pool on his pillow. Youd think little Freddy would be use to this by now, though you just dont grow accustomed to some things. Young Freddy whimpers as the sound of breaking glass rings though the house. Father: Thats it you stupid whore! He buries his head in the tear soaked pillow
though he cant drown out whats happening. Freddy can still hear the back of the hand as it connects with his mothers face, he can always hear it. Mother: No Paul please, youre drunk! Father: Well you certainly arent giving it to me, so you must be giving it to somebody else! Mother: Dont do this
Freddy will hear you! His fathers voice becomes even louder as it takes on a sarcastic overtone. Father: Oh thats right, wouldnt want your precious angel to hear me setting his whore mother straight. Maybe that boy is your problem; youre always worried about that little shit! The shallow cries of a small child go unheard. Father: Well I guess its time your little angel learned that the world doesnt revolve around him! Mother: Paul, dont do this
Once again you can hear him smack her, Freddys tears flowing like the now pouring rain outside. Father: Ill do what I damn well please woman! With that the time has finally come, it always comes to this. Freddy suddenly lays completely still, petrified with fear. His fathers boots leave a thud with each step up the stairs, growing louder as he approaches. The tears stop pouring, a young boy trying his best to brace himself for what is about to come. The footsteps begin to get close to Freddys door. He pulls the covers up over his head, trying his best to hide himself within. He knows all to well that He-Man cant protect him, though he wishes he would leap of the covers to his rescue. He lies beneath the covers shaking, the doorknob to his room slowly turning. Light soon pours into the room, bringing with it the large shadow of a demon. Father: There you are ya little shit! Theres a reason I havent set foot in this place for over ten years. Freddy Phoenix is sitting on the edge of the bed in the same room from earlier. The sheets no longer have a childhood hero, instead replaced by solid black. Cobwebs hang all around the room, attaching themselves to the old sports trophies on Freddys shelf. Looking around this old dusty room you wouldnt think anyone had touched it for years. Freddy remains still, his face resting in his hands. A time comes when everyman must face his past. He gets to his feet before taking one more look around the room. Freddy slowly makes his way out the door. I swore when I left this place that Id be successful no matter what, that Id show my dad I could become something. I was denied ever being able to do that, denied ever seeing the look in that bastards eye
the look when he realized his good for nothing son had achieved more than he ever would. He took that away from me, along with my mother. Freddy wipes a tear from his eye upon entering the den. He makes his way through the room, walking out he front door to the porch. His eyes gaze out at the long dirt driveway that leads up to his home. Thanks to him the only thing this place still holds for me
are a lot of memories that Id rather just forget. The scene were looking at slowly fades as we go back to the past once more. On this night an old pickup truck tears up the driveway, leaving a cloud of dirt behind it. The truck comes to a halt, a teenage Freddy Phoenix staggering out the door. He waves to the occupant of the vehicle before taking another drink of his beer. Freddy manages to get to the foot of the porch steps. The truck takes off back down the driveway, leaving Freddy staring at his front door. Theres a loud crash as he tosses the beer bottle at the front door! Freddy: Get out here you old bastard! He holds himself up against the porch, waiting a moment. Finally the door swings open! Mother: Dont Paul
please! Freddys father turns back to her with a grin. Father: Shut up woman, the boy thinks hes a man. He makes his way outside, slowly walking over to Freddy. Father: Is that it boy
you think youre a man now? You think you can call out your old man? A smile fit for the devil himself stretches out across the face of Freddys dad. He stops just short of his son, spreading his arms out to the side. Father: Tell you what, Ill give you the first shot. Theres a hesitation from Freddy, he just stares at his father. His face is almost stoic, thoughts apparently racing through his mind. Father: Come on! If you think youre big enough
take the first swing! WHAM!!! Freddys fist slams into the face of his father, the man staggering back slightly. He looks up wiping some blood from his lip. Meanwhile Freddy just looks on like a deer in the headlights, finally realizing just what hes done. Father: My turn. What followed was the worst beating that man ever gave me, actually the worst beating I ever got in my life. It wasnt long after that I left home. Though the thing I remember the most about that night
We see Freddys father stop at the door, looking back at his son. The boys laying on the ground, his face a bloody mess. He glances up at his dad, barely conscious. Father: Like I always said boy
youre nothing, youre weak. WEAK The voice of Cole Christenson suddenly fills the air. Cole Christenson: I proved that Freddy Phoenix was weak. WEAK Cole and Freddys fathers voices continue to repeat that one word, one after the other. Then finally they come together as one. WEAK Freddys fist breaks the pattern as it suddenly slams into the wall! Theres a small dent in the plaster, not to mention the blood left behind by his fist. He shakes his hand as its now racked in pain, his face overtaken by rage! Im anything but weak! He slowly calms down, his eyes still slanting slightly. Jeffy Andrews says that hes leveling the field starting this week on Shockwave. As long as the so called field is what stands between me and Cole, its definitely going to be leveled. It doesnt matter who I step in the ring with this week, Im sending a message to Cole
Freddy grins slightly, clenching his still sore fist. Im going to make sure he gets it loud and clear. (Fade Out)
A few scattered beams of moonlight manage to find their way through the thick clouds above, giving us a glimpse of the secrets within the night. Tall blades of grass sway helplessly to the whims of the wind. A loud crack erupts from a large tree as it bends slightly against the forces of nature. Theres a storm on the horizon
though not just in the literal sense. Anger soon swirls amongst the coming storm, screaming voices cutting through the night sky. Its hard to make out just whats being said, though the source is very apparent.
