Mark Hemmingway ~ Action is heating up here in IWA. Since the move from CAL, which I believe was a great idea, IWA will finally be able to prove to everyone that it can survive on it’s on. Since the LBWF closed its doors, everyone said that the IWA would not be able to stand. They said we wouldn’t last one year. But look at us. We have many new faces and just a handful of wrestlers still wrestling from the LBWF. AS you look down this hallway. (Hemmingway looks right then left down the hallway but stops talking) Hemmingway ~ Is that Jason?!? (He points toward the left side of the hallway. The camera moves in that direction but only a glimpse of a person is caught as he rounds the corner) Com’ on. (Hemmingway shouts at the camera man) They break into a jog as the camera bobbles up and down shooting scenes of their feet and the tile on the arena floor. They turn the corner and the camera stops in place as the TV viewers hear the over weight and out of shape camera man huff and cough as he tries to catch his breath. Hemmingway ~ Dale! Com’ On! We got to see if that’s Jason. The camera begins to move again and then they both stop. Mark is looking around, but no sign of anyone named Jason. They stand there for almost 2 minuets with dead silence except for their breathing. Hemmingway ~ Dang I must have imagined it. Well lets go take that interview back from the top. Hello, Mark. Hemmingway ~ Jason! It is you! What are you doing here? The camera turns to show Jason Knight or who some of you know him by, Hawk. Hawk ~ No hello? (Hawk jokes) What am I doing here? (Hawk thinks then his face turns from a joking expression to a straight face, he then shakes his head.) You know Hemmingway that’s a good question. The only problem is I don’t know the answer. You know I was sitti well let’s start this at the top. (He takes a couple of deep breathes) I guess you know why I let the ring? Everyone knows why I left the ring. After many career threatening injuries and some reconstructive surgeries, I decided that my life and walking around and be able to ply with my new born son is more important than anything that this sport had to offer me. After that last surgery, over two years ago, the doctor advised me never to step in the ring again at all. He told me not even show up in any fed anymore because all wrestler cases he has ever handled, the wrestles goes back for an off camera role but before long he is fighting again and ends his career for good. So I go home. I sit down, I rest a couple of weeks and I find out I am to be a father by my recently married wife. You know that was a pretty exciting time. So nine months later, I was the happiest I had ever been. However, give it another year and a half and I was the most depressed I had ever been. I woke up, drank and drank some more. After months of this I realized what an environment I was raising my son in. So I decided, for me to be happy I had to come here. So there’s you answer, the best I can give you anyways. Hemmingway ~ Now that you are here, are you returning to wrestling? Or what? Hawk ~ Mark, I won’t lie to you. I walked into this arena just to see friends but the moment I got here and smelt the smell, and seen the ring and all of this stuff that was my life, it made me want it. It made me want to return and come back into the ring and do that one thing I never done in either IWA or LBWF. Win the World Title. But Hemmingway ~ But? But what? Hawk ~ I just can’t do it anymore. I just can’t wrestle. I can’t risk never walking again for what used to be my life. I have moved on. (Hawk looks to almost tear up, He turns and walks away.) Hemmingway ~ Jason .! Jason! (He follows Jason and stops him) You.. Hawk ~ Listen, I said what I had to say what else do you want from me? Do you not understand how much it kills me? I want to wrestle I want to win that title. I want to be the best damn wrestler in this entire federation. I want to be the IWA. I want to be the top spot. There is so much I want, but I just can’t do it anymore. Jeffy Andrews and I have talked. And I have signed a contract to help back stage, and I will be at Shockwave this week, in a none wrestling role, but I am afraid you will never see me in a match again. (Hawk turns and leaves and this time Hemmingway let him go).
