We were very surprised at how good it actually was and looked forward to the sequels even more. And, they did just keep getting better. Derek

I have a different take on the whole Matrix deal than most people. I see them all as fairly equal. When The Matrix came out, it did things that movies around then hadn't. That aspect alone, raised the bar considerably and I believe people expected the following sequels to continue that jump. They, in my mind, where they're own movie and I am glad that the Brothers were ballsy enough to keep the story as they had planned it and not deadpanned it away to the outcries from those that were disappointed.
