I am trying to discover why Eliza H Jacomb-Hood, of Dacre Park, Lee, Kent, in 1885 gave the Royal National Lifeboat Institution money for a lifeboat to be stationed at Newbiggin, Northumberland, and to be named after her parents, "Robert and Susan", of Bardon Park, Leicestershire. Any hints as to why she chose Newbiggin, and indeed why she chose a lifeboat, would be most welcome.
