My Gt/Gt/Grandfather is also John Jacombs from Ratby (born 1818, died 1870). He had a son William (born 1851, Died 1928), then one of William's children was Charles Harry or Henry (born 1886, died 1958). These people were all born and died in Leicestershire, but may have lived in other parts of the country at some time.
Do these dates fit in with your research?
