Posted by Sue Rowley From the 1881 census it seems as if both Elijah Barnes and Sarah were both widowed. A marriage in the March quarter 1879 seems to fit with the last two children. I believe Sarah may have been married to William Jacom, but the ages do not match very well and it could have been a different Sarah Jacom who married Elijah Barnes - more research is needed on this! My great grandmother, Ellen Jacom, had a brother William born 26 November 1828. Also, does anyone out there know when and where Ann Jacom (nee AMOS, mother of Ellen and William Jacom) married Thomas Armson - probably between 1846-1851.

Much of the information I have is conjecture from census entries as I haven't researched the Jacom line in detail yet. Unfortunately I don't know of any descendents, except for my own line who left Walsall 1869/70. Would the John Jacomb that you knew be the one in the 1881 census? If so he could have been cousin to my grandfather.
