Dear David Turner,
I am a beekeeper interested in beekeeping history and am researching John Wykeham Jacomb-Hood - your man, I think. I am trying to find out how he died in 1914. I think it was an accident on the railway. If you are still interested in this man, I have a series of articles on beekeeping that he wrote.

: Hello all
:
: Please excuse this message but I am a PhD
: student studying the history of the London
: and South Western Railway. As such I am
: interested in two Jacombs who were resident
: engineers of the company.
:
: William Jacomb, while being a student of
: Brunel, was resident engineer of the London
: and South Western Railway between 1870 and
: his death in 1887. J.W. Jacomb-Hood also
: held the post between 1901 and 1914. I was
: just wondering if anyone knew of whether any
: of their papers survived anywhere, or if
: anybody had any information on their time at
: the company.
:
: Many thanks and Best Wishes
