My husband's grandmother was Emily Eleanor Jacomb, born 1897 in Mile End. She came from a long line of Philip jacombs, the earliest I have details of is Philip Henry Jacomb born 1786 and son of Philip & Sarah. Legend says they were originally Huguenot refugees from Southern France and Emily's grandfather died in the French Hospital, London in 1935
