Hola. I was a volunteer at Jardin Gaia for 3 months in the fall of 1995. There was no one else there with me except for Jorge (?) the native guy who ran the place and the father and daughter who showed up daily to help clean cages and feed the animals. My job was to be the mama to 2 congo monkeys whose mother had been poached so that they could be easily captured. They were released about 2 weeks before I left. I also cleaned cages, cut up fruit and veggies for the birds, and cleaned away brush from the jungle daily.
I would love to hear of other's adventures. I do miss it and I'm so sorry to hear it was closed.
