Posted by Mark Vermilion The hard, messy part of restoration work has already been done. All the rotted wood has been removed, and the frame and truck set have been sandblasted and painted (cost: $4500). What remains is the more enjoyable restoration carpentry on the restored frame. This is either C&O Caboose #90790 or #90793 (reference "Chesapeake & Ohio Cabooses 90700 Series", Jones & Samuell, Kokosing Gap Trail, Inc. 2000). You can view the complete restoration process of sister caboose #90776 at www.kokosinggaptrail.org/caboose.htm. Sale includes 70 feet of track, ties, and some new wood and roofing material. Caboose is currently on a 48 foot drop deck trailer ready for move. Truck set, rail, and other material on ground. Location: Michigan Price: $12,000 for caboose, trucks, rail, ties & material. 1996 Fruehauf 48 foot trailer also for sale for additional $13,500.
