The highlights of the Kempe Rheingold that you have probably are not from the recording I talked about. It must be the recording that features Ferdinand Franz, Rudolf Schock and Josef Metternich. I don't have it but it seems interesting. Unfortunately it seems to me that the Kempe Bayreuth Rheingold/Ring are not even available at the moment. I don't remember right now on what label it is. It think it was some minor label. I think Das Rheingold is the best part of that Ring. It seems to suit Kempe better than the other parts and doesn't have any major flaws. The other parts have some tenor problems. Wolfgang Windgassen was far from his best as Siegmund. Hans Hopf (Siegfried) was past his brief prime and Herold Kraus is not a very interesting Mime.
