Hehehehehehehe...you're absolutely right :-) And keep in mind that since this is (to some extent) a nice place for some polemics, you also have to keep in mind that I purposely overstate many things. Actually, I just "don't really like" George London, but I can certainly understand why other people like him, so we're friends about that ok ? Anyway, with regard to Adam, I can also relate to the fact that you don't like him. I mean...yeah sure, the guy has a wobble from here to Tokyo (and I'm not living close to Tokyo). The reason I like him though is that he is a nice example of someone singing beautifully with a rather ugly voice (Flagstad would for me be an example of the other way round : for me she has a beautiful voice, but doesn't _sing_ beautifully with it, but that's another discussion). He is also a very versatily singer, which is something that I appreaciate very much (he is as competent a Bachian as he is a Wagnerian). "yes, but some of the singers do not suit their parts as I understand them." Yes, I see what you mean and you formulated it very nicely. In fact, I hold rather offbeat ideas about Wagner and Wagnerian interpretation (although in the history of this particular board these ideas used to be not so offbeat). 'My' Wagner is slender and elegant and above all _very_ lightweight and transparent....a bit like bel canto opera (don't explode...I mean this metaphorically). If you see Wagner in this light, Karajan's ring (or Janowski's for that matter) starts to make a helluva lot of sense. Once you start to dig why Helge Brillioth is such a magnificent Siegfried, there's not really a way back. I find it hard to enjoy 'accepted' great Wagner singing from the 50's and 60's, because it doesn't fit my understanding of and ideas about Wagner's music. But hey, again, that's a whole other discussion and as long as there's choice enough, I'm happy

"A very special view on George London`s voice you have but that`s all fine with me, `cos as you said I would not place any value with your artistic judgement. "
