Very true, these recommendations and statements by my new friend Anonymous 4 even though Nilsson is an impressive machine(not as beautiful singing as Price I agree)And Kleiber justifies one more time his genius status as conductor. With these three, perhaps four Böhm-Kleiber-Furtwängler-Solti you have the best with acceptable sound. For historians interested in a very special but due to age somewhat less acceptable sounding recording I would like to suggest a Erich Leinsdorf-MET take with Melchior, Flagstad(you read this Anonymous4)
and the Marke Alexander Kipnis. But if you, Ulfilas consider obtaining one or more rec.make it the three you`ve mentioned starting with Kleiber as imo best and a quite different but close second Böhm. The Furtwängler I do not own myself though heard parts of it for a couple of times but will not give elaborated comments on anything that I don`t know very well.
