Posted by Richard Ely In the case of the Testament issues, Testament being a small, independent label may not have the resources to offer a mid-price range - presumably, they need to recoup costs on the purchase of the master tapes from Universal/Decca/Teldec, or whoever, and then foot the bill for the remastering.

As far as I'm aware, all the Bayreuth recordings from this period, with the exception of the Keilberth stereo Ring, have been issued numerous times on a variety of labels, many of them mid-to-budget price. The Krauss Ring has certainly done the rounds many times.
