Posted by Daryl on September 13, 2006, 22:40:23 Now that traditionally budget priced Naxos has bumped up their price to $7.99 and even the low end Classica D'Oro now is at $8.99, how do we evaluate what is budget and what is mid price? What is the current scale? Not so long ago I considered $0.99 - $6.99 per disc budget and $7.99-$12.99 mid price. Anything above that was full. Now that seems to have shifted. Is budget now $0.99-$9.99? What do you think? What are the true budget labels anymore and do we have to take inflation into account? I still like Naxos and still think they put out a great product, but if they start to flirt with mid price and, God forbid, full price, then they are just one more major label. The only real active budget label who is still budget seems to be Brilliant Classics at $4.99 per disc. Just trying to find out what you all think and feel about all that. Daryl
