Posted by Ebbe Foege Bak I have some personal favorites in Wagners tenor roles: Ramón Vinay: He is very good as Siegmund and Parsifal and of course Tristan. As Tannhäuser he has some problems with the tessitura of the role but he is marvellous in the other three roles. Rudolf Schock: He is a fantastic Lohengrin and Walther von Stolzing. Schock gives a very lyric role characterization of these two roles which is very good for the two parts I think. Schock is also very good in some of the smaller roles like for example Froh, Hirt and Ein junger Seemann but also as Erik in "Der fliegende Holländer". Poul Elming: He is a fine Siegmund and Parsifal. He also has the baritonal tone like Vinay which sounds very good for some of Wagners tenor parts I think.
