Ah, yes. I remember now. Come to think of it, the Schott Saemtliche Werke Richard Wagners has the Voss edition of Rienzi as well as the other operas in it. Voss indicates in the notes that Rienzi was never meant to be performed uncut as Wagner himself had suggested that Rienzi be performed with cuts. The exact cuts he recommended are not known because of the now (in)famous tale of those original scores that were lost after WW2 (Rienzi, Rheingold and Walkuere). So much for giving Hitler the scores for his birthdays. Damn...
