pro disc league. Yes, that's right. Buy your tickets now. The "Detroit Mechanix" is the latest pro sports team we now have in the Detroit area. The Detroit Mechanix are one of eight teams in the "American Ultimate Disc League".
Let's see, minor league hockey has failed again and again in the Detroit area, any type of an indoor soccer league has failed again and again in the Detroit area, any type of indoor arena football has failed again and again in the Detroit area, any type of minor league baseball has failed again and again in Detroit area, and any type of pro lacrosse has failed again and again in the Detroit area. Now we have a pro indoor disc league (I'm not even sure what that is).
I think people who start these teams in the Detroit area must thnik that the people that live in the Detroit area are such rabid fans when it comes to the Tigers, Lions, Pistons and Red Wings that these other type of sports will take off in the Detroit area, but they never do.
We once had a minor league arena football team in Port Huron, Michigan, the Port Huron Pirates, that won every game with the exception of the championship game their inagural season, and in the second season they won every game including the championship game, so after two seasons they had a total number of one loss, and after the second season the team folded due to lack of attendance.
