I did not see a prediction thread this year for the Indy 500 and it is less than 24 hours before the race. I put a slight twist on the prediction thing.
Winner = Self evident, Most ppl. will probably pick an Andretti or Penske car.
Long Shot = The car you think has a real chance to win and surprise everyone, but the pick is alittle surprising (In college football, this would be like picking a good Vandy to beat a top SEC team).
Underdog = The car that would shock everyone if it won, but it does have a real chance. (In college football, this would be like when App. State beat Michigan at home)
My Predictions:
Winner: Marco Andretti (Andretti Autosport)
Long Shot: Tony Kanaan (KV Racing)
Underdog: Ana Beatriz (Andretti/Conquest)
I really think Ana Beatriz is capable of at least matching the best female driver finish for the Indy 500 of 3rd by Danica Patrick. Conquest is a good team with Indy 500 history that lacked the speed in the past Indy 500's. The new "Andretti / Conquest" partnership brings the speed. The more I did some looking and research on the net I just found more reason to think she was a true underdog that could win the Indy 500.
BTW, I originally was going to pick Alex Tagliani as an underdog. I just think a Chevy will win rather the Honda he drives and Tagliani was such a big disappointment last year.
