some post-race musings..........
........change isn't just a word, it is exactly that, CHANGE, and the new car, well I'm sure that down the road I'll get used to it, but for the moment, I think its ugly, altho I'm more that sure the sponsers LOVE it, you can read their signage far easier now....
......new car, part deux: I only watched that Will Power crash 2 or 3 times, but didn't it look as tho the one drivers head was almost scrapped on top the outer wall? anyone getting hurt is horrible, but try to get your arms around the idea of someone getting injured (or killed) on the National stage, in a car thats been trotted out to a fanfare of "all our problems are solved".........much like the line about the Titanic being called 'unsinkable' (actually, did some research on that one, it may actually be urban-legend, as apparently theres no record of anyone from White Star Line saying that about the ship)........
........the end of an era??? this was the first May in recent memory where we heard not a peep from Pat In Speedway (again with the whole 'change' thing).....
.....don't know what the gate was, but by and large, there seemed to be a good crowd, with the glaring exception, courtesy the blimp shots, of the stands on pit road, and no, don't try to sell me that "everyone was in the can", those seats were 100% grade-A empty........
.........and in closing, that guy who tried pulling off that pass going into turn one on the white flag lap? In the words of Hershal Krustovsky...."You, sir, are an idiot"!!
