I too tried to buy beer in Pennsy. As I mentioned in a previous thread I collect bearcans. I never had such trouble getting beer since I was a teenager. We were in the skinnny part of the state by Erie. We finally drove to New York only a few miles away to get some beer. There was a liqueur store and tavern just over the boarder. I asked the guy there about it, and he said it was a leftover Quaker thing.
