And Kurt actually has a lot of support from the garage. I think the point that a lot of folks are missing is how inappropriate the question was. Folks just see the sound bit of him going off on Pockrass what no one seems to understand is that Kurt had just answered the same question for ESPN probably not 2 min before the Pockrass incident. The set up for the video link below is that ESPN is conducting their post race interview (the broadcast network always gets first call), and many of the free lance reporters write their stories off what was said in the broadcast interview. Sometimes they don’t ask any questions they just listen and write or record. Pockrass is standing about 2 feet behind Jerry Punch off camera listening to Kurt’s answer about what happened between him and Justin. Kurt makes the statement that he is on probation so he can’t even pick his nose the right way, indicating that yes, probation did play a role in the way he drove against Justin. Pockrass was there 2 feet away writing it all down and yet he asked the same question 2 min later. The view from my shop is that it was an inappropriate question which had been answered and Pockrass was present for the answer. The only purpose in asking it again was to try to inflame an already POed driver, who also has a long history of not liking Pockrass, into saying something that he shouldn’t. Again Kurt was dead wrong but to be honest I probably would have giving the jacka$$$$$ a smart answer as well. Pockrass is a soap opera writer who couldn’t tell you the first thing about a race car. Pockrass could have been over asking Justin what happened but he knows that Justin is very mild mannered and his answers would not provide the drama he was after. Take Care.
