I probably would not say what is that chick's name on the Supreme Court? or what was the name of that chick that was prime minister of Great Britain?
While I would not think twice of hearing someone say and use myself "what was the name of that chick you knew that worked at Hooters?" or "Who was that chick that was in that movie?"
IMHO, you should not use "chick" to describe a victim of an offensive attack. I would like to think most would think it is inappropriate or not very tactful refer to a rape victim as a "chick". I also do not think it is appropriate to call a victim of domestic violence a "chick".
For me, I agree it is tacky to refer to in this situation a female that was essentially a victim of an inappropriate aggressive act as a chick.
