Being completely surrounded by water whenever the heat gets up past 85 degrees we get horrible humidity. I don't think people that live in other parts of the midwest get how miserable the weather we get in Michigan is during the summer. Not a lot of it, but we get our share.
I still get a kick out of people in Michigan when I hear them say you don't need central air in Michigan because you only use it a few weeks out of the air. What are you suppose to do those few weeks out of the year? It seems like we always have that part of summer where the overnight low isn't much different than the day time high with horrible humidity. You can tell at work the guys that don't have central air. They're the ones that show up with their tail dragging even before the day starts because they couldn't sleep the night before because it was so hot and humid.
