I spent a lot of time at Comiskey Park during the late 70's and 80's. Bill Veeck, Harry Caray, and the 'South Side Hitmen' really put on a show.
When Harry was with the Sox he was a drunken bum to the northsiders. When he moved north he became a beloved baseball institution almost overnight. Of course he was always a beloved baseball institution to the southsiders.
I it did seem like Jack got the bums rush out the door at Wrigley.
