Every once in awhile you here a name from the past that you totally forgot about, and when you hear the name you think to yourself "Self, I wonder whatever to that guy?" This afternoon I'm in the house with the central air cranking trying to avoid the close to 100 degrees temp with high humidity (very sticky outside) we have in Southeast Michigan today, and had yesterday, and I'm channel surfing, and I come across some type of Viper Sports Car Race on NBC Sports (formerly known as VERSUS). I guess the official name of the series is the SRT Viper Cup Series Presented by Penzoil Ultra . Any way, I'm watching the race from Road America, and they start talking about the second place driver in the race, Richie Hearn. As soon as they said the name I recognized the name from when he ran in the IRL. He had one win in 25 starts. They referred to Richie as an Indy Car driving legend which I think is pushing it just a little.
They interviewed him, and he said besides the Viper Cup thing he hasn't been doing a lot of racing lately, but he is a driving instructor at the Exoctica Driving Experience based out of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway where they feature all exotic cars like Ferraris, Lamborghinis. Aston Martins, Porsches, etc.
