Following the MLB thought, there have been several players just out of high school and numerous players out of college who have gone straight to the majors. Burt Hooten, Dick Ruthven, Dave Winfield, Bob Horner, Pete Incaviglia, Jim Abbott, John Olerud, and Xavier Nady are among the most recognizable names. If they have the talent to successfully compete, let 'em play with the big boys.
