Cavin, who is billed as the Star's "Indy car Expert," had this to say in his blog just 48 hours prior to that release about push-to-pass.
"Question: I haven’t heard much about bringing back push-to-pass next year. As good as the racing has been this year, maybe it’s not needed. On the other hand, another tool for the driver to use should only increase the excitement. Have you heard anything recently? (Mike, Indianapolis)
Answer: It’s been quiet on that front. I don’t think we’ll see it, and I don’t think it’s necessary."
Curt seems to be a nice guy and is a huge supporter of Indy car. But this kind of thing, along with his blind boosterism, is why I believe Robin Miller is much more credible.
