The "family" of Amphetamine are all stimulants. Durg companies call drugs with similar history or connection a family.
To quote from a passage in wikipedia source:
"Currently, the application of amphetamines and their derivatives in medicine is very limited. Amphetamine, dextroamphetamine, methamphetamine, and methylphenidate (Ritalin) are used in the treatment of narcolepsy and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.[5] Bupropion, a substituted cathinone with very weak psychostimulant properties relative to most chemicals of this class, is widely used as an atypical antidepressant and smoking cessation aid, under the brand names Wellbutrin and Zyban, and is also used off-label to treat attention-deficit hyperactive disorder."

The fact they have to wait to identify the type of amphetamine speaks volumes. Assuming Tara Ragan (AJA's business manager) is truthful, the GC-MS is having to be removed by additional experts. If the Amphetamine was Meth, it would have been clear cut because the fact of the matter is that the professionals doing GC-MS have more experience identifying illegal drugs.
This the "problem" with the GC-MS that require professional human involvement which is why it is expensive. It sounds like the GC-MS has identified the family of the drug, but the expert might never have seen the specific drug so they are doing additional test on the GC-MS to see how certain amphetamine appear in the GC-MS to better prefect the software. New drugs require the software for GC-MS to change all the time.
If some asked me to place a dollar bet on a group of stimulants within the Amphetamine family, I would go with Bupropion. Most people probably know it by Wellbutrin which had commercials on TV. It is considered by some to be better than ritalin or at least not to have the negative stigma that ritalin has by some in the public. Wellbutrin XL is the extended release capsules.

I can just infer by what I read, but I think this could be building up to a situation where bad press for AJA becomes good. I suspect that is also why he have not heard anything about him being fired from his team.
