What AJ tested for, unfortunately, is illicit. It was not abuse of a prescription stimulant. NASCAR will not comment on this further until it is time to reinstate him. This will take about six months, if all goes well.
His reps will be very silent for some time too. Public comments from his camp have been very carefully scripted and timed; they will cease while he begins the rehab program.
It is a very unfortunate situation but all parties that need to know now know all there is to know. Sadly, this is not a hatchet job or abuse of something bought over the counter.
No amount of long-winded hypotheses here will change any of that.
