I personally know two people who are subject to seizures at any time who still have drivers licenses, and would probably still drive even if their licenses were revoked. Is there a technology which would prevent someone without a current valid license from starting an automobile, which could not be defeated? Scanning a license bar code or a fingerprint could be defeated by using someone else's. Retina scan of the person in the driver's seat might work, but probably would be criticized as too "Big Brother". Dependability might also be a problem, not to mention the cost. But it might keep people who aren't supposed to be driving off the roads. Costs of those results are too high now.
