OK - I remember the place you are describing, just not the name. There were times when hunting that I'd approach that area and sit on the bank and plink away at turtles sunbathing on logs. I kinda felt guilty doing that but I saw it as an opportunity to sharpen my aim. A lot of birds, gophers, and rats (never felt guilt about those) also paid the price as I made my way to "Expert" marksman.
