Posted by Craig Back when the now-old-gym was the brand-new-gym, people would go there during lunch time while the "big kids" in High School were playing music on a record player and dancing. One or both of the coaches would oversee this. The lights were always low (to almost nonexistent) and kids were dancing. I dont remember why we "little kids" were allowed in but it was during one of those lunch hour dance times while we were in the 5th grade (1961-62) that I asked Cheryl Severson (now Fallon) to dance with me. And she did. The song?? "Little Surfer" by the Beach Boys. To this day, 44 years after the fact each and every time I hear Little Surfer played, I think of that memorable dance with Cheryl. I only hope after all these years that the tops of her feet, and her toes, have recovered from me stepping on hers.

Now that we've thoroughly discussed and remembered my 5th grade kissing adventures I thought it might be cool to bring back memories of the first time we danced with someone.
