Posted by Craig As for smoking dope. I rememeber in 12th grade in Rice Lake while in Psychology class the teacher asking if there was a drug problem in town. I always thought that was something that was reserved for Minneapolis or Chicago but one girl in the class, who was in the know about that stuff, started to tell about all of the drugs being used. In the 12th grade my sole concern was who could get us a 6-pack of Pabst on Friday night! However a few months later at a dance at the Catholic school in Rice Lake I ran onto a couple Cameron kids (2 from our class) and one of them introduced me to wacky tabacky that night. In college of course it was an every day occurrence. One guy on my dorm floor put himself through his undergrad degree entirely by selling LSD!! My room mate the last two years in college was a heavy smoker. I vaguely remember one night he and I talking about the poor people's march on Washington and trying to figure out how we could use that model to raise environmental awareness. Eventually, in our cannabis induced haze, we concocted the "Poor Muskrats March on Washington." We were going to call to arms all of the muskrats of the nation and have them converge on Washington. Tom would take 1 million of them and shut down all of the transportation systems into and out of the city. I was going to take a million muskrats at the same time and take over the Capitol. We would stay there until Congress passed legistlation banning all forms of wetland loss in America. We never followed through with our plans of course (and if that sounds a little bit like something from Jerry Rubin's book "Do It" you're right). However to this day each time I land at National airport I look down and try to imagine what the bridges over the Potomac would look like swarmed with muskarts, each on his hind legs, incisors bared, right paw in a fist and raised, stopping traffic. Maybe one of these days.... As for now I'm outta here headed to the Burmese embassy to get my visa. Keep the memories coming.

Then if it wasn't you wearing perfume, Ms Holy Grail, who was it?? Now that you mention it I can recall the SOS issue. Its shocking how mean little kids can be. I dont remember the note being passed however. I'm trying to remember the ring leader girl who caused you so much grief but I can't pull her out of the recesses of my brain. I would imagine the jealousy came not only from you wearing dresses and being intelligent, but you really were the most attractive girl in our class. Right up and through the last time I saw you at River Falls. You were also one of the kindest people I knew. Funny how you could be that kind with the way you were treated back then. Thats another thing that life has taught me about how people interact with others. I'm really sorry that you were ever treated that way.
